Rita Mattia describes herself as an “obsessive storyteller,” yearning to share the times, places, persons and moments of a life well-spent in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia, as well as occasionally hilarious sojourns throughout the United States, Canada and Italy.

As with her first collection, TRYING STUFF, some provide insights into her Italian and Irish heritage, some allow us to laugh along with her at herself, and all reveal Rita’s deep love for family and friends

WRITA WRITES AND READS contains more than 50 stories and recollections, as well as dozens of vintage photos from a long and amusing life spent mostly in New Jersey, Maryland and Virginia. While none of these tales and images have appeared in print before, all were narrated by Mattia as part of her podcast WRITA WRITES AND READS and are currently archived wherever you enjoy podcasts.

After completing both this book and the podcast, Mattia mused, “Without listeners and readers, our stories are never really told at all.”
